Global Warming Data

Sunday, June 24th, 2007 by Global Warmer

For the last few years, the weather has been quite very unpredictable. The cases of tsunami in the Asian region and the strong hurricanes that affected the United States in the past few years are strong evidences that our weather is indeed turning violent. According to experts, the changes in the weather can be closely linked to Global Warming. The Global Warming data gathered by experts show that our planet is experiencing some major changes in the temperature.

The Global Warming data showed that the increase in the temperature in the surface of the earth caused several changes in the weather that affect the natural resources such as water. According to studies, for the last several years, the rainfall in some parts of the world has been quite extreme.

There are some areas which experienced extremely heavy rainfall while there are also some parts of the world that does not have much rainfall at all. The effects of both droughts and flooding are very devastating to the people in the area. The fact that crops and other agricultural products are often very much affected by the extreme weather conditions, the food security of the people in the country is also affected.

Rising Of Sea Level
Global Warming data showed that the effects of Global Warming is not only limited to the changes in the weather conditions. Scientists who analyzed the Global Warming data revealed that there had been a significant rise in the sea level for the past 100 years. According to the Global Warming data gathered in the last few years, the seas have risen about 1 to 2 mm/year for the last 100 years.

The gradual rise in the sea level is not really much noticeable to ordinary people at the moment but time will come where some low-lying areas in the country will soon be inundated with seawater. When this happens, before who are living near the seashores will lose their homes and properties.

What causes the rise in the sea level? According to experts, the melting of the glaciers in the North Pole and the South Pole caused the rise of the sea level. As a temperature of the earth’s surface rise, the glaciers starts to melt and the water coming from these glaciers flow into the sea. If Global Warming continues, the glaciers could melt at a faster degree and the sea level will drastically rise.

Global Warming Webquest

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 by Global Warmer

Used as an educational tool, a Global Warming webquest can be helpful in not only teaching the facts surrounding the Global Warming debate, but also help develop an opinion on the fact or fallacy of Global Warming. With the hotly divided issue being debated on two main fronts, using a Global Warming webquest to help formulate an educated opinion can help separate the facts from theory.

When many nations signed what is called the Kyoto Protocol, an agreement by many countries to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, three main countries, the United States, China and India have steadfastly refused on the belief that the costs of reducing the emissions far outweigh the results, which are based on what they term questionable and unproven theories. These countries, guided by many industries supposedly responsible for the emissions, use Global Warming webquest presentations to support their opinion that the facts do not support the theory enough to justify the cost.

Developed by educators and scientists, a Global Warming webquest can help students and others sort through the information available in order to determine which side of the debate appears to be the most right. Facts are presented in order to present a more informed reasoning behind their presentation.

Need Pertinent Information To Form Opinion
By having students as young as in the fourth grade begin looking at the environmental issues, proponents hope they can raise the environmental consciousness of the youth. Some scientists, however say the information included in the Global Warming webquest is tilted toward one view and leaves out information needed for an honest opinion to be developed. By slanting the information, a non-judgmental theory cannot be reached, is their accusation.

One of the most recent Global Warming webquest projects selects players for a game of political advisers, asked for information on Global Warming by a newly elected fantasy president. Their charge is to review available research on Global Warming and offer the president a recommendation on how to move on the issue. Part of the game also involves the group writing a short press release outlining the opinion and offer facts as to how the opinion was reached.

In their presentation to the president, they must not only offer an opinion, but also must provide information on why and have supporting documentation for each point of the opinion. This Global Warming webquest cannot only help individuals determine their position on the debate, but may also open doors to previously unthought-of of theories.

Global Warming Arguments

Friday, June 22nd, 2007 by Global Warmer

There are many people concerned about Global Warming, and they pay careful attention to the Global Warming arguments. There are many people who discuss Global Warming, and these people present Global Warming arguments which is important in coming to some kind of conclusion about it. Some of the people who support certain Global Warming arguments seem to be discredited by people with opposite ideas on the topic.

There are even scientists who have Global Warming arguments that are discredited by another group of scientists with different Global Warming arguments, obviously because they have different views on the topic. The ordinary people listen to the Global Warming arguments from many of the experts, and some of these people end up feeling confused by these experts, or making a decision on the matter without knowing the hard facts.

Global Warming arguments seem to be perfectly logical at times until an expert comes up with an argument that seems to contradict itself. Hopefully, the officials in charge and people will listen to the debate and try to do what is right with the information that comes out of the debates. Hopefully, people will dig deeper and make an opinion based on facts not only from officials they hear it from, but from other documented truths about Global Warming.

Global Warming Arguments Are Food For Thought
People will have to be content that there are not any specific answers to some of the important questions they may have when it comes to Global Warming. They should listen to the arguments carefully and each person should try to do their part to make sure that they do not contribute to Global Warming. People should also encourage their leaders and elected officials to govern with the issue in mind. The elected officials should try to govern and make sure that they care for the environment and atmosphere in the laws that they pass and enforce.

There is some evidence that the changes in the climate and the atmosphere are due to human activity. This is one argument that seems to ring true to all parties involved, yet the debate on how to correct this problem is the true argument at hand. It’s important to get involved with your community and fight for what you believe in when it comes to trying to eliminate or at the very least postpone Global Warming.

When Did Global Warming Start

Thursday, June 21st, 2007 by Global Warmer

The term Global Warming refers to an increase in temperature of the surface air that surrounds the earth. When did Global Warming start? Some say records date back as far as 1850. Research has shown that both the air temperature and the temperature of the sea have risen since that time. Research also shows that humans are the cause of Global Warming.

The atmosphere of the earth goes through natural cycles of heating and cooling over the course of time. This has been the case since the beginning of time. In the years since the automobile was invented the rate of Global Warming has increased and many believe it is due to the gasoline emissions which are produced by the gasoline engine. In determining when Global Warming started, many believe the gasoline engine was the beginning.

When asking the question “when did Global Warming start” the people in Europe offer a more positive attitude than the people of the United States. The United States tend to turn a deaf ear to all of the warnings and the warning signs. European countries are much quicker to accept the fact that we are destroying the earth’s ozone layer with all of our polluted emissions.

The people of the United States often view Global Warming as a political debate between the two parties. Republicans tend to look the other way while Democrats believe something should be done to prevent further damage.

Looking Back In Time
There are many scientists that would answer the question “when did Global Warming start” by saying it was around 8000 years ago when people started clearing the land of trees. The constant clearing of the forests is of great concern to environmentalists. Man began clearing the land for agriculture and to build suitable housing. As the number of man has grown, more and more forests have been cleared leaving a dangerously small number of trees.

Instead of asking “when did Global Warming start”, we should be asking what we can do to end it. Many people who once were skeptics are now acknowledging the fact that something has to be done. By doing nothing we are allowing some species of animals and plant life to become extinct. We are also allowing more and more harmful rays of the sun to reach the earth. This could explain the rise in skin cancer in the past few years. If we continue to allow the depletion of the earth’s ozone layer, the day may very well come when human life will also be in danger of extinction.
